The ATP Tour will not reopen a doping case against Andre Agassi even though he admitted to lying about using crystal meth in 1997.
Agassi revealed in his recent autobiography that he failed a 1997 drug test, a result he says was thrown out after he lied by claiming he "unwittingly" took crystal meth.
However, ATP chairman Adam Helfant said on Friday that there was no way to sanction the American retroactively since he has retired from tennis.
There has been a lot of speculation about whether the ATP would reopen the case, but we cannot do that because he's no longer playing on the tour -Adam Helfant

There has just been released a book that every parent of every athlete should read.
Then the athletes ought to read it, and then they should give it to their favorite uncle, whose kids aren't athletes, so after he reads it he can hand it down to those kids.
I am talking about the new autobiography by one of the greatest tennis players who ever lived.

In introducing Andre Agassi to a Palo Alto audience Friday, the moderator noted that the tennis star's autobiography recently hit No. 1 on the bestseller list.
Agassi smiled.
"I finally did something my wife hasn't done," he said, referring to Steffi Graf, winner of 22 Grand Slam titles.

SAN FRANCISCO The Sacramento Monarchs folded on Friday, a shocking and disappointing development for the WNBA and one of its original eight franchises.
The decision was largely based on the Maloof family's desire to focus all its energy and efforts on the NBA's Sacramento Kings.
Maloof Sports & Entertainment had owned both teams.
